THESE INGREDIENTS ARE A BIG NONOS!!

DMDM HYDANTOIN & UREA (Imidazolidinyl)
These preservatives often release formaldehyde which may cause skin allergies, headaches and insomnia.

MINERAL OIL
This petroleum by-product coats the skin like plastic and clogs your pores. This is very harmful to your skin as it interferes with its ability to eliminate toxins. Hence, increasing the likelihood of acnes.

PARABENS (Methyl, Butyl, Ethyl, Propyl)
May contribute to hormone imbalance as it is used as preservatives.

PEG (Polyethylene glycol)
This ingredient could temper with the melting point and thickens products used to alter and reduce the skin’s natural moisture factor.

PROPYLENE GLYCOL (PG) & BUTYLENE GLYCOL
Acts as “surfactant” in its liquid state and penetrates the skin speedily which can weaken your skin’s cellular and protein structure.

SODIUM LAURYL SULFATE (SLS) & SODIUM LAURETH SULFATE (SLES)
This is a detergent that makes products foam, lather, and bubble. Imagine putting detergent on your face! YIKES!!

SYNTHETIC FRAGRANCES
Synthetic or artificial are red flags in skincare. Being unaware of what these ingredients actually exposes you to a combination of over hundreds of ingredients and properties that goes unlisted on the label. You sure you wanna put that on your face?!

4 Steps Skincare Routine for Oily Skin Type

Oily Skin: Are you sure you know your skincare routine?

One of the most common skin concern is Oily skin. The arduous challenge that one has to go through is shiny complexion and acne outbreaks. How should one control this?

With the right skincare routine, this issue can be less of your daily headache. Simply adopt a 4-step routine in your am and pm practice!

Step 1: Cleansing!

Cleanse your face in the am and pm.

Do you know that cleansing your face in the morning is important despite you just… sleeping?

Yes! Because while you sleep, you face is producing oil and shedding skin cells. So cleansing is required to prevent excessive oil and dead skins from building up and blocking your pores, leading to acnes.

Step 2: Always always use a toner!

Use a toner after cleansing your face as toner helps to get rid of any remaining traces of impurities and dirt left stuck in your pores after cleansing. Toner also helps to restore the pH level in your skin and refine and smooth out your skin. For your oily complexion, note to use toner that consist either of salicylic acid, glycolic acid or lactic acid.

Step 3: Treat your skin!

If your skin is acne-prone, using sulfur or benzoyl peroxide in the am will help prevent breakouts and curb oil production. In the pm, make sure of retinol products to keep your pores clean with glowing skin.

Step 4: Moisturise in the Day and Night!

This is a very important step for you!!

Do not think that because your skin is oily already so you do not have to moisturise anymore. All skin types should moisturise just that you need to be aware of your choice of moisturiser! For your complexion, look for a Lightweight, Water-based and Free of oils moisturiser for acne-prone skin!

Good News! On the bright side, your complexion will help you abstain from wrinkles and smile lines longer than those with dry skin!
